Hey everyone! I hope you guys are settling back into routine and getting a chance to enjoy the fall weather like I’ve been doing! Something about the cooler temps and the crisper air that make me feel like REALLY getting down to business in school, work, and everything else. I don’t know what it is, but the weather acts as a reminder for me to get myself together.
Over the past couple years, I’ve began to really understand the importance of being on time and it’s become something that I take seriously. I’m actually proud to say timeliness is part of my personal brand or reputation. Being late is always something that gets thrown around like “always late but worth the wait” or show up to things “fashionably late”, and while yes, sometimes its totally OK to show up to something later than it starts, often times it’s totally not and people still do it! There is something so respectable and professional about being on time. I’ve never seen someone walk into something 30 or even 10 minutes late and thought “wow, that person must be super cool rolling in late”, quite truthfully it’s something that comes off as arrogant and big-headed. On the other hand, I absolutely notice when someone I’m meeting with shows up with time to spare, or someone important makes it to an event right on time. It shows you’re humble, and that you’re taking other people’s time seriously. What better way to make an entrance than that?

Other than the matter of time itself, I’ve also begun to wear a timepiece on my wrist almost on the daily. Yeah, we all have phones we can check when we need to know what time it is, but there’s something to be said for wearing a watch. I love being able to discretely look down at my wrist rather than awkwardly lugging my phone out of my purse which #1 is disrespectful in MANY situations, and #2 is literally a waste of time when you can look down at your wrist and get the same info. On top of those reasons, there’s something so sophisticated about wearing a watch. I feel like a watch says a lot about a person… make sure yours is accurately representing you.
I recently discovered JORD wooden watches, and they’ve become a serious game changer. First, they come in the most classy wooden box, (perfect for gift giving – I’d seriously just simply tie a bow around the box, attach a gift tag and give it just like that). JORD watches are made from natural hard-finished wood, and have classic faces that you’d find on a traditional metal watch. They’re the ideal mesh of timeless (no pun intended) with a modern take.
My favourite is the Cora (pictured) which is a smaller size, zebrawood watch with a bright pop of rosé adorning the face. Coincidence that my wood watch coincides with my choice of wine? I think not!

Not only are wooden watches nontraditional and a major conversation starter, they’re so versatile. I’m loving wearing mine with casual looks, as well as fancy-ing it up through the use of complimentary bracelets with more sophisticated outfits. I’ve also seen men wear these with anything from shorts and a T, to dressing it up with suit, and let me tell you, you can rock JORD either way!
