EASY WAYS TO OWN YOUR ACCESSORY GAME

One of the most intimidating concepts of fashion is JEWELRY! Am I wearing too much? Am I wearing too little? Can I mix and match tones? Can I wear rings on more than 2 fingers? SO. MANY. QUESTIONS. Something that I had  struggled with for

SHOW STOPPER: GUITAR STRAP PURSE

SHOW STOPPER: GUITAR STRAP PURSE

Hello loves! Is it just me, or did August fly by? Two weeks left of summer? It’s crazy! I’m sad to see the summer go, but I’m also beginning to get excited for fall fashion. Something about trading in baby blues & light stripes for darker, richer tones (emerald & burgundy are a few of my favs) is always something to look forward to!

With this change in season comes time for wardrobe updates! Right now, I’m searching for those transition pieces that are still summer-appropriate, but are also paving the way into the cooler season trends. A little moodier and edgier if you want to say that.

One fall trend I am oh-so into right now is guitar straps! These straps are cross-body and interchangeable while providing fun detailing to any purse or bag! They add character and edge to any outfit in a subtle way, without taking centre stage from the rest of your ensemble. I’ve seen this trend featured by many, many designers including Rebecca Minkoff, Michael Kors, Alexander Wang, Kate Spade to name just a few. I seriously love how this piece can take a plain bag to stylish, without compromising the classic, simple feel, and still keeps the neutral overall tone of the bag.

As much as I’m into this style, I couldn’t bring myself to spend $300+ on a bag that included a guitar strap, and I don’t currently have a simple bag that these straps would suit so you can assume I was over the moon to find Steve Madden had come up with their own take on the guitar strap with this collection! I found this black mini, double zipper look on sale for just over$30 and knew immediately it would be my go-to for the rest of the summer and into the fall. It’s a small piece, but the detailing make it stand out. I’ve been searching for a mini-bag that can still fit my phone, car keys, powder & lipstick and this fits just that! I love how its zippered on both sites, separating it into two compartments reason being I can stuff my phone, keys, and credit cards in one side (the yucky things), and then my powder, makeup brushes & any facial products on the other side (fresh & clean!)

The best part about this find, is that it comes with both a simple black strap, and a pretty embroidered and gold detailed guitar strap – major win-win as I can dress it up or dress it down depending on my outfit! I’m so looking forward to using this as an accent piece with any outfit, from jeans and a T, to a dress like the one I’m wearing here.

Days in the city and nights on the town have never looked better!

I wore this bag as a statement piece to this black, asymmetrical fringe dress by Noisy May, and these black tie up block heels by Expression from The Bay! It’s an understated way to make a statement!
