The struggle of gift giving with intention is real. Truth is, sometimes even gift receiving can be a struggle! I can’t be the only one who has once received a gift that I really did not want, and would have been happy to leave at the holiday party… can I? For real though, not only is it awkward to receive a gift you don’t want, but think about how awkward it is for the person gifting it to you. They’re more thank likely cringing just as hard as you are, knowing you probably won’t even like the gift they got you… but having no idea what you’d like, they just had to just settle on that grocery store perfume set – cringe!
Whether you have been on the side of giving or receiving, I’ve decided to try and take the awkwardness out of gifting and make it easy for all parties involved! Here it is: my guide to gift giving with intention!
3 QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF
There’s 3 questions I’ve identified to ask yourself to ensure you’re gift giving with intention:
1. Am I sure the gift recipient will find a use for this?
2. Do I think the gift recipient would purchase this for them self (if money were no object)?
3. Is this something that will bring the gift recipient joy?
If you can confidently answer YES to all 3 of these questions, you’ve probably nailed it! If you’re unsure about 2/3… you may want to think again…
THE BEST GIFT TO GIVE
Or, consider a gift that is sure to please. Something that can be put to use however the recipient chooses…, a Shopping.ca gift card! The Shopping.ca gift card is a gift card that can be used at a range of diverse retailers at Outlet Collection Winnipeg, as well as 21 other shopping centers in Canada (think Vaughan Mills, Eaton Centre Montreal, and Outlet Collection at Niagara!). This makes it easy because you don’t need to know what the recipient likes, where they shop, or what they would be happy to receive because they can choose what they like them self! It’s also a safe bet, regardless if the gift recipient lives here in the city, or somewhere else in Canada. It’s the perfect way to give the gift of choice, while still being more thoughtful than simply sticking money in an envelope.
INTENTION VS. CONVENIENCE
While intention is so important this time of year, I think we can all admit that so is convenience! And I don’t mean convenience store gifts – STEER CLEAR!! But seriously, our time to be running around searching for the perfect gift is obviously limited. So, the flexibility to purchase Shopping.ca gift cards online or in-store at OC Winnipeg makes it super simple! I love that the gift cards come already packaged up in a festive, reusable gift box, making it a perfect, ready to go gift, no wrapping or card required.
So whether you’re looking for a gift for that cousin who lives over in Ontario, a last-minute Secret Santa gift you want to stand out at the office holiday party, or something to please your extremely-difficult-to-buy-for/totally-different-style-than-your-own sister, the Shopping.ca gift card offers something for everyone!
Make sure you’re gift giving with intention this year… and trust me on this one: Shopping.ca gift cards are definitely intentional.
BUT WAIT! Want to win your very own Shopping.ca gift card? Stay tuned for a giveaway on my Instagram in the next couple days where you’ll have a chance to win a $125 gift card!
P.S. In case you’re looking to gift ME… I do love Kate Spade, Polo Ralph Lauren, and DSW – all stores at OC Winnipeg… if I find a Shopping.ca gift card in my stocking I would certainly not be disappointed 😉
