New Year’s Resolutions 2019

New Year’s Resolutions 2019

In all 2 weeks of January, I’ve been asked what my New Year’s Resolutions are are at least 5 times, and the truth is, as I’m writing this it’s Sunday, January 6th and I’m now just getting to write them out.

Update: by the time this gets posted, it will be January 21st and you can add another 5 TIMES onto that now “3” weeks!

Every year, I know far ahead of time what my resolutions will be, but I feel that until I physically write them out, I won’t be held accountable to them. So here we are! Are you ready to find out what they are?

My 2018 resolutions from last year are still things I want to work on in 2019. But that’s not because I failed at them! But because I believe that resolutions aren’t things you have to simply add or subtract from your life. Rather things that you can constantly improve on. Yes, I drank a lot of water this year, as per my first 2019 resolution, however there were periods of time that I totally sucked at it. So in 2019? I’m gonna drink that water. More. And more often. Same goes for going to the gym more and being more patient. Why let a resolution end just because the year ends?

Alright 2019, it’s your time. My main resolution for 2019?

PURPOSE AND INTENT.

I want to be more purposeful in everything I do. Enough of that half-assed stuff. That goes for relationships, my career, the people I surround myself with, the things I say “yes” to, and what I spend my time doing.

I honestly feel that in the past year, I did a lot, I saw a lot, I grew a lot, and I learned a lot. But much of all of “that” wasn’t done as purposefully as it could have been.

What I mean is that I want to make all my decisions, plans, and actions with intention. I want to really, truly, think things through and make sure that everything I do will result in some form of benefit added to my life. Why am I spending time on things/people that are not doing anything for me? I don’t mean to sound selfish here… but really, you gotta be a little selfish in order to make things happen for yourself.

If you’re still trying to figure out your own New Year’s Resolutions for 2019, because believe me, it’s not too late — consider how purposeful YOU are in your every day life. And you too might realize a huge opportunity to better your life just through adding more purpose.

So here’s to a PURPOSEFUL 2019! Who’s with me?
