IT’S ALL IN THE (BEACH) BAG

The weekend is near and I’m sharing a quick tip to prepare you for whatever your +30 degree weekend plans may bring. If you’re anything like me, packing a beach bag for a day on the boat/beach/pool is as important as packing your carry-on luggage for a flight.  I’ve grabbed a few of my fav minis and thrown them together to make a fool-proof, grab-on-the-fly, fully-stocked bag for the beach!

For the skin:

1. Self tanner: The best way to fake a tan when you’re short on time is with Kate Somerville Self Tanning Towelettes! Whether you use one pre-pool party, or the night following, snag a natural bronze by just swiping it over your skin for an easy sun-kissed glow!
2. Face sunscreen: I cannot stress the importance of sunscreen! But more importantly, the importance of a good facial SPF. Hawaiian Tropic is always my go-to drugstore brand and their new Silk Hydration FACE mini with SPF 30 is the perfect size to pack for a day trip! Oil free &  oh-so-lightly tinted, it feels just like a daily moisturizer! Available at Shoppers Drug Mart or Superstore
3.  Facial mist: Call me crazy for buying an aerosol bottle of water, but this Evian Brumisateur mist is a must. The easiest way to refresh and hydrate your skin, plus as a bonus it gives your makeup (or fresh face) a quick retouch

 

For the hair:

1. Leave in styler: I use Bb. Don’t Blow It Fine (H)air Styler by bumble & bumble on wet hair in the morning for a natural base, or when I get out of the water to tame the tangles and let it air dry nicely. I’s so light and softens your hair all while adding natural texture
2. Saltwater wave spray: Another bumble & bumble necessity, Surf Spray is the best way to fake beach waves in the a.m., and as a quick fix for wild wind blown hair later in the day. I mist this salt spray all over and scrunch it up and twirl it around for a natural wavy look

 

To stay hydrated:

1. Single-glass bubbly: because champagne is always a good idea, but a full size bottle at the beach may be frowned upon, Barefoot is keeping us happy once again with Pink Moscato Champagne in minis!
2. Water bottle: The only way to keep your water (or champagne?^) cold all day is with a S’well ! I might have a minor obsession with drinkware, but absolutely nothing compares to the quality of these bottles! Keeping your water cold all day so you can stay happily hydrated.
