22 THINGS I’VE LEARNED BY 22
Birthdays always get me feelin’ SO nostalgic, and this year even a little more so. Over the past couple years, I feel like grown so much and have really begun to discover and understand myself. Key word: begun. I think that throughout our lives, we never stop growing or discovering ourselves, but sometimes we forget to take a minute to reflect on all of the growth we’ve seen! How lucky are we that we have our whole entire lives to figure ourselves out? This week, I turn 22 so I wanted to share 22 things I’ve learned up to this point!
1. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. You can only stay within your comfort zone for so long
2. You’re never too young to start using eye cream
3. Be up to date with the news – always
4. Don’t take yourself too seriously, but not too lightly either
5. Make time to spend with your parents while you can – they won’t be here forever
6. You can never be overdressed or overeducated
7. Measure your success against yourself
8. Drinking 2-3 litres of water a day is not a drill
9. Remember there’s usually more to the story than what meets the eye
10. Keeping the people you love is always more important than keeping your pride
11. Not everyone you lose is a loss
12. When introduced to someone new, say “Hi ____, I’m _____” to remember their name
13. Money is best spent on experiences, not things
14. Spinach can be used in pretty much every dish
15. Be nice to people – you never know when your words could catch up to you
16. It doesn’t matter how much you’ve had to drink, ALWAYS wash your face and brush your teeth before bed
17. It’s okay to not feel like yourself every once in a while, but it’s not okay to only feel like yourself once in a while
18. You can’t always have it all. It’s okay to lose sometimes
19. If you’re the smartest person in the room, then you’re in the wrong room
20. Everything happens for a reason, you just have to be patient to understand why
21. There’s nothing wrong with saying no to things you don’t feel you have the time to energy to take on
22. You’re only young once so make mistakes and learn while from them while you can
